Organism 144 is a collaborative artistic installation-performance that brings together materials, ideas and actions to create an ecological-social manifesto, based on the belief that systems constitute the essence of human (and non-human) existence.
This project is composed of physically and conceptually interrelated parts, reflecting the group’s collaborative work methodology as an ecological, social and cultural system. At the same time, the organism’s parts differ in terms of their material and virtual essence, representing different viewpoints on ecological thought and processes.
The collective members each wrote a personal manifesto expressing their stance on ecological issues. Twelve objects, the organism’s first “organs,” were created in conjunction with the manifestos, serving as the basis for the organism’s growth. This platform gave rise to a discourse composed of materials and ideas, as group members responded to one another’s works: 12 responses to 12 works, equaling 144 responses.
These responses have constantly changed and evolved, developing organically rather than in a linear manner, moving with an inconsistent rhythm in unexpected directions and various intensities. The works reflect unique personal modes of thinking and points of view, as well as the changing spirit of the group and its individual members, their areas of interest and professional and technical expertise. Over time, this process resulted in group synchronization through both conscious and unconscious subconversations, reciprocal influences and inspiration.
