Dr. Assaf Krebs is a multidisciplinary designer and researcher, the Director of the international research center Design Factory Shenkar, and a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Design, Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art. He graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and holds a Ph.D. in Classical Studies from Tel Aviv University. He has received several awards, including the America–Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship for outstanding young designers. Krebs worked for many years in the design industry, serving as a Senior Designer at FutureBrand and Head of Methodologies at Tikkun Olam Makers (TOM).

His research and creative work explore the intersection of design, philosophy, psychology, and technology, focusing on the human body and its surfaces. His studies have been published in international academic journals, and his design and art projects have been exhibited in galleries and museums in Israel and abroad. Krebs also leads interdisciplinary social design initiatives that bring together engineers, designers, and diverse communities, emphasizing human-centered and frugal innovation.
