The object responds to Ofir’s manifesto, which focuses on “feedback” as a defining principle of living systems. It is composed of knitted fragments made from threads unraveled from bedsheets — a textile material in intimate contact with the human body. Each fragment is the size of my hand, referencing a specific female maker rather than the generic, male-based human scale. A single blue row marks each piece, echoing the torn flannel strips once used for cleaning weapons. The fragments, equal in combined length to three times my height, are connected by a metal coil, creating a simultaneous state of connection and separation. Suspended like a pair of unbalanced scales, the object seeks equilibrium yet remains controlled by forces beyond itself.
