A floating, swaying arrangement in the collective mobile relates to Assaf’s manifesto, which defines the Anthropocene human as having an epidermis instead of a soul.
Ten Buddha’s Hand citrons and one Etrog—symbolizing the human heart among the Four Species—are placed over X-ray images of a Care Bear and a medical stethoscope, serving here as metaphors for emotion and the human capacity to listen.
The encounter between a physical, tangible fruit and representations of an inner face or internal being invites a deeper look beneath the surface, calling for radical listening to one another—an attentive hearing of the murmurs of the human heart, wherever it may be.
